I have been working at a local hospital but “not” in the medical field but, while working here in Houston, I’ve gained a lot of interest in this field and even taken a tour of a school I’d like to attend. My issue is the math part. I’ve seen the assessment test and wow.. After being out of school for so long(20 yrs), it all look so foreign to me. I’m not afraid to give it a shot but I know it won’t be easy. I want this so very badly but that math can be pretty inti.

yeah in my are philadelphia it’s about $62,000 a year….the math she is talking about is college level math which everyone who starts college has to take no matter what..I took it and got a “C” so i’m good not to many programs offer it here though….i wish they did…gotta look outta state.

:O It totally depends where u live. At some places u need to graduate as a Diagnostic Radiographer first which is 4 years Hons degree and then u have to study extra 3 years+ on job training as post grad sonography course.
By introducing these 4 years degree programs all those technician titles are thrown out the window!
Now they are known as Medical imaging scientist’s as their role is more concerned with informed opinions and research

Cardiac sonographer is not invasive and therefore would not help you much in embarking upon a specialization in invasive surgery. Cardiac Cath Technologists work in an invasive lab and you would have to go through that college program as well. You would have to pick one or the other. Or try PA school which is a greater choice with better pay.

You have to be vascular or OB. OB works with pregnant women and vascular works with individuals with vascular conditions or diseases. Both are great jobs to have.

Me too! Cardiovascular isnt as popular I guess but its way more interesting to me. Where are you going to take the program. Im enrolled at tri-c right now, they have alot of pre-reqs so thats what Im doing. Are you in cleveland?
